With all the flooding in Queensland this year, there has been a lot of water flow in the Lake Eyre catchment. The expectations have been rising regarding the lake filling this year. We decided to have a look before the peak (and before the Easter rush) If it gets a decent fill, we'll be back in june, july or august.

The trip took us through the Flinders Ranges to Maree, then on to Level Post Bay via Muloorina Bore, William Creek, Halligan Bay, Leigh Creek and back via Wilpena and places in between.

The plane trip from William creek over the lake was well worth the effort. We wouldn't have seen any water in the lake without it.
